The Commerce Department's Public Telecommunications Facilities Program announced its
annual grants, grouped by state, this year totalling $22.4 million, two-thirds for
DTV conversion. Twenty-four stations got aid to buy emergency generators.
Some of the radio grants help launch the first pubradio signals for five localities.
